Cougar Alumni Club meets Saturday, February 7th!

We are thrilled to announce that the Cougar Alumni Club's next Quarterly Meeting and Breakfast will take place on February 7th at 9:00 AM at Cocina del Charro, located at 890 W. Valley Pkwy, Escondido. The cost of the event is $16 and includes a delicious Continental breakfast. Enjoy this excellent opportunity to connect, network, and share our Cougar pride.

Our speaker will be Rick Visser, the class of 1970's valedictorian, and starting center on the 69’ SDCIF football Co-Champions. After graduating from UCSD (77) and the University of Idaho College of Law (90), Rick served as the Legal Director for the Idaho Supreme Court and as Director of the State Law Library. In 2008, Rick founded the Idaho Innocence Project and served as its Legal Director until 2016, and then as its Legal Advisor until 2023.

Cocina del Charro opens at 8:00 AM, with our event beginning promptly at 9:00. Tickets purchased for $16 at the door include Cocina’s American Continental breakfast. The customary raffle will follow the presentation. We can't wait to see you all again!

As we begin planning for our first event, the club leadership would like your help. To make these breakfasts
as engaging and valuable as possible, we are seeking your suggestions for guest speakers.

Is there a local business leader, a distinguished fellow alum, a fascinating professor from campus, or a community trailblazer
you would be interested in hearing from? We welcome any and all ideas! Please take a moment to consider who you'd find inspiring
and send an email with your suggestions to info@cougaralumniclub.org.

Our goal is to host our first breakfast meeting before the end of this year, and your input will be crucial in making it a success.
We will send out a formal invitation with the date, location, and speaker details as soon as they are confirmed.

The Cougar Alumni Club (CAC) devotes its time and energy to the alumni and friends of Escondido High School. We endeavor to link the legacy of Escondido High School alumni to current students and future graduates. The Cougar Alumni Club raises funds and offers scholarships to graduating Escondido High School Seniors who have plans to continue their academic pursuits at the college of their choice.

The CAC is committed and dedicated to the values and mission of Escondido High School. We value the friendships gained in high school and maintained with devotion after graduation. Our obligation to helping alumni maintain these relationships is a natural steadfastness for us and is fundamental to our mission.

STRONG

Since 1894, we have proved to be people of not only strength athletically and academically, but also people with strong character. We are honest and fair, show courage in standing up for our beliefs, and have a strong sense of responsibility for our community. We maintain self-respect for ourselves and those around us.

TRUE

Being true to yourself is a key virtue taught at EHS. This involves being devoted and vulnerable; but never naïve. We are firm in our allegiance to the school, its traditions, and to each other. We are not perfect, but to remain true to our character, we pursue the actions needed to improve our inner spirit and remain a Cougar at heart.

The Escondido Union High School District prepares future generations for academic, personal, and social success. For over 130 years, Escondido High School has served the students of the region well. As the second oldest high school in the County of San Diego, and the largest of the three comprehensive high schools in the District, Escondido High School proudly serves more than 2,200 students in an environment that still holds true to the values of the rural past.
